Mission of Service :
The Government ensures equal opportunities in school admission for all eligible children (including Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) children) in public sector schools, regardless of their races. Our school is committed to encouraging and supporting the integration of NCS students (notably students of diverse races) into the community, including facilitating their early adaptation to the local education system and mastery of the Chinese language.
As to enhance the support for NCS students’ learning of Chinese and create an inclusive learning environment in schools, including strengthening the communication with parents of NCS students and home-school cooperation.
School assign a dedicated teacher and team to coordinate matters relating to support for NCS students’ learning of Chinese. School will adopt the “Assessment Tools” to assess the learning performance of NCS students each school year. We adopt a “small-step” progressive learning approach to set appropriate learning targets and plan the support for all NCS students admitted. This includes adopting appropriate teaching strategies and learning and teaching materials, and adopt diversified intensive learning and teaching modes(such as individual learning /group learning, etc.) as appropriate according to the learning needs of NCS students, with a view to helping NCS students learn Chinese systematically.
In respect of the creation of an inclusive learning environment in schools, school will provide translating school circulars and student handbook, student evaluation and school webpages, etc. as appropriate, with a view to strengthening the communication with parents of NCS students and home-school cooperation.
